Ranchi: Brother-in-law and Girl Found Hanging After Ring Ceremony

Ranchi: The bodies of a girl and her brother in-law were found hanging from a tree in Majhitola area located on the fringes of Neori village under the Bundu police station limits of Ranchi district on Monday. The incident happened a day after the girl’s ring ceremony was held, police said.The deceased were identified as Arti Kumari (17), a resident of Neori in Ranchi, and Arjun Pahan (25) of Arki in Khunti district, police added. Ranchi SP (Rural) Praveen Pushkar said, “Prima facie, it has been learnt that Arti and Arjun were in a relationship. Both had left the house after Arti’s ring ceremony was solemnised at Neori on Sunday.”“A case related to unnatural death has been registered on the basis of the statement given by the girl’s relative. Police are awaiting the post-mortem report,” he added.
